Welcome to Folded. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Folded mobile application ("App"), website, and services (collectively, the "Services"). Please read these Terms carefully before using our Services.
By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.
If verification appears stuck and the Continue with Apple button doesn't respond, it's usually a network issue. The authorization check happens early in the app load. If it fails due to poor connectivity, you may see the Welcome screen as if you were logged out.
Solution:
Fully close the app, switch temporarily to mobile data (or a stable Wi‑Fi), then reopen Folded. This resolves most network‑related authentication issues. If problems persist, contact support@folded.app.
This is almost always a connectivity issue preventing the app from loading required resources.
Solution:
Switch to mobile data or a different Wi‑Fi network, fully close the app, then reopen it. If the issue continues, contact support with the email used for your Folded account.
Notification delivery depends on device settings and OS permissions.
Solution:
Ensure notifications are enabled for Folded in iOS Settings → Notifications → Folded. Within the app, confirm your reminder schedule in Settings → Reminders. If you recently restored a device or reinstalled the app, open Folded once to refresh the notification tokens.
If you're still experiencing issues after trying the solutions above, please reach out to our support team. When contacting support, include the email you used to create your Folded account so we can assist you more effectively.
To use certain features of our Services, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account (including device security and Sign in with Apple). You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Our Services may allow you to add or store information such as time since quitting gambling, money saved since quitting gambling, goals, journal entries, and other content ("User Content"). We understand and respect that this content is private and personal.
Private Content: Content you store in Folded is not public by default. We do not use your User Content for marketing without your explicit consent.
Limited License: You grant us a limited, non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to host, store, process, and transmit User Content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
You represent and warrant that: (i) you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content; and (ii) your User Content and your use of the Services do not violate any law or third‑party rights. For details on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
We collect and process certain data to provide, maintain, and improve our Services, including analytics, diagnostics, and (if you choose) Open Banking transaction metadata for gambling‑spend detection and savings estimation. By using our Services, you agree to our data practices as described in our Privacy Policy.
You agree not to use our Services:
The Services and their original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Folded and its licensors. Our Services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written consent.
Some aspects of our Services may be provided for a fee. If you elect to use premium features, you agree to pay all applicable fees as described in the Services.
Subscriptions (including Apple In‑App Purchases) auto‑renew unless you turn off auto‑renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Taxes, levies, and duties are your responsibility unless stated otherwise.
Certain features may rely on third‑party services (e.g., authentication, hosting, analytics, payments). Your use of these features may be subject to those third parties' terms and privacy policies. Open Banking providers typically act as independent controllers for your bank credentials and consent flows; we receive read‑only transaction metadata where you have granted permission.
We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account by discontinuing use of the Services or by using Settings → Account → Delete Account.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Folded and its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to: (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Services; (iii) any content obtained from the Services; or (iv) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
Your use of the Services is at your sole risk. The Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non‑infringement, and course of performance.
No Medical, Mental‑Health, or Financial Advice:
Folded provides tools and information to support behaviour change, but it is not a medical device, therapy, or financial advisory service. Folded does not provide medical, mental‑health, or financial advice. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional with any questions you may have.
We do not warrant that: (a) the Services will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location; (b) any errors or defects will be corrected; (c) the Services are free of viruses or harmful components; or (d) the results of using the Services will meet your requirements.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict‑of‑law principles. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be a waiver of such right or provision. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
We may modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide notice (e.g., in‑app or by email) at least 30 days before the new terms take effect where required. By continuing to access or use the Services after the revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.
